If witnesses are testifying that they were considering killing themselves because someone in the world saw them without clothes...they are seriously fucked up and have issues with their bodies and/or self esteem. I feel bad for this hacker. Sure...put him in jail for 6 months or make him pay restitution of $10K to each of his victims...but 10 years? Seriously? Murders get less time. We live in a scary state.
to flip it, people could post their own profiles to your bounty-porn site and offer to perform when their goal amount is met. Then everyone who contributed gets a vid, behind the scenes, props, etc...depending on contribution levels.
$99 is pretty trivial...not huge. There's no way it could cover the costs associated with vetting/hosting/distributing/selling any moderately successful app. And don't forget Apple wants to make a profit. Consider that at 30% - Apple is mostly covering costs and making a small profit from the App Store. It's not a significant source of revenue for them as a company.
It's like your sickness/psychosis is benign....in that you can still process information in the world around you without explaining shit away with magical fairies and magical wizards in the sky...despite suffering from massive delusions. It's a good start. And mostly harmless.
"I had a teacher split the class into 2 sides, those who believe in God and those who believe in evolution"...but when it didn't follow with something like..
"then the teacher bitch slapped those who believed in God and gave the rest ice cream"...I was a bit disappointed.:(
What market is there for a full blown laptop in tablet form factor. That's the original concern raised by the author. Seems like a small market. Esp when you have the power of a full blown desktop/server available on any tablet via remote connections and cloud services/apps.
Why isn't there just a TI Calc app for iPhone/Android/iPad. They could charge $50 and it would be all profit for them. No hardware. And probably a better user experience as well.
Costco pays 50K!? WFT...the average American makes just over $30K these days...and the average college grad (not recent grad...but anyone with the degree) barely makes more than $50K...why/how is Costco paying so much?
so my smartphone can have navigation apps and such that will just push data to my car. I could push video/images/audio/text...what ever my specific dash can support...so that if I have a cheapo radio it can still display turn by turn text directions, or if I have a 8 inch screen it can render it like a Garmin.
there's no such thing as the right to do something; its about whether you can or can not do it. nearly every country that's ever been formed, was do so at the expense of those that came before it.
There will always be global wage differences and companies will always exploit them. Global markets and currencies will never equalize, they will always be in flux.
Also you don't want terrorists betting that there will be an attack in some city one some day and then going out and perpetrating said attack to collect on their wager.
Wonder if there was a bet on InTrade that this shit would happen. I would have put money on that. But damn it, I guess I wouldn't get paid since I'm in the US.

fiber has been shown to improve throughput significantly...which is helpful when you have a lot stuff to push through
Although the hundreds of millions of Americans outside of the USA don't really feel this way...
when they assume a certain level of stupidity for their non-asian counterparts...sarcasm is not the their first conclusion.

why just focus on Christianity? That's offensive.
I think we can increase this list size by at least an order of magnitude by including creation stories from other religions/cultures/societies.

just shows the failure of logic at the onset...sad
I like the way this was starting...

Hmmm...that seems to be more capable than a large segment of the human population. Impressive.

bury yourself in your yard with a cardboard box above your head for air when the police come to question you because you know you're innocent!

No because
1. The government needs FedEx and it's too big to fail
2. Because they have money and lobbyists.

Actually...International Business Machines fits just as well. It's not like it was ever called United States Business Machines.
IBM sells mostly services/software to corporations...which have a ton of money to spend, regardless of employee salaries.

Canada....would you mind shipping all this reason and common sense down south to the USA?
With the fiscal cliff approaching and politicians bickering back and forth...I can think of some better people to send to space for a YEAR!
