But you can buy any aftermarket part you want designed for that car, whether Ford likes it or not. Ford does not say "You can't put this part on your car, nope...it duplicates the functionality of the whatsahoosit".
You have to hack your iPhone in order to run something that Apple hasn't approved. All I need to do is remove the part from my Ford.
As for your T-Mobile software on a Verizon phone...I bet i can put your blackberry apps from your ToMo bb on my VZW bb. RIM doesn't say "You can't run that...", Microsoft doesn't say "You can't run that", Google doesn't say "You can't run that", only Apple seems to say that. They go to great lengths to break that hack you did to jailbreak your iPhone on every firmware update.
Patent troll is a pejorative term used for a person or company that enforces its patents against one or more alleged infringers in a manner considered unduly aggressive or opportunistic, often with no intention to manufacture or market the patented invention.
What product has MS bought that was a competitor to their product? What did they kill, keeping the inferior product and not improving it with the tech from the new product?
Masturbation and corporate interests aren't the same. I would expect, as a parent, that I would get prior notice that my child would be given lessons on how to be a good little consumer that way I can pull them from the class for the session during that time.
If that's true then we can continue teaching them Microsoft Windows in the class room instead of Ubuntu and Open Office and they will be able to do the same thing, "I want to do z, now what?".
Otherwise, you're teaching them GNOME under Ubuntu and if they have to move to a Windows interface, they will be as confused as if they were trained on Microsoft and have to move to a GNOME based user interface. Chances are, they'll run into a Windows interface far more often than a GNOME interface.
There's nothing wrong with Steam. I can buy games on or off of steam. I can move those games to another computer. I can use them on or offline...
In fact the only thing I lose with Steam, is the need to find a CD when I want to install something...

I insulted his religion, he fires back with a lot but doesn't supply proof...
It's product worship at it's worse. I just saw a documentary about the macintosh last night, it really is a cult.

The name seems to match the capabilities.
Let's see, most of slashdot fanatically hates microsoft...why can't he fanatically hate Apple? Is it because Apple is the hip, new religion of IT?
For the love of all that is holy, Apple does NOT sell drm'd music.
