    Windows 7 plays almost everything by defualt, h264, divx, xvid and even some types of movs out of the box.

    new "Software Update Server" MS just released.

    It installs patches over the network and doesn't require the user to click any EULA.

    I think you'd get better luck if you showed the download info right after the user submits the info. I bet it's the delay that doing it. You're probably getting blocked by people spam filters etc...

    "It's not in the "add/remove programs" control panel, where you'd expect it. It's not under "properties" when you right-click on a file. It's not in any obvious or easily accessible location."

    It IS under the right click on a file in Win2k if you right click on any file and go to properties you will see a "Change" button where you can easily change the file type. I do admit however that it was very difficult to do in Win9x
