  1. Re:One Word: Meh on Halo 3 Beta Closes Up Shop · · Score: 2, Insightful

How do you know it is mediocre?...it is not even out yet! It is a BETA that is hampered and only multi-player. How can you judge a game until it is actually out.

This goes both ways for all you Halo lovers as well.

  2. Re:Doesn't add up. on Did Apple Sabotage the ROKR? · · Score: 1

They are supposedly releaseing another iTunes enabled phone based on the RAZR platform. Why would they do it again if they were purposely trying to sabotage the market for this product. Doesn't make sense.

  3. Re:Advice on How to Leave a Job on Good Terms? · · Score: 1

It is ILLEGAL for him to withold pay without any due cause. Leaving a job is obviously not a good enough reason. If he wantsto withold pay then he is not allowed to let you continue to work there. By allowing you (or you being nice enough) to still show up he is obligating himself to pay you. Stick to your word - Don't leave early because it could damage your reputation down the line. Unless things start to become unbearable or dangerous I would take the high ground, finish up strong and leave when you said you would.

  4. How about Indy Movies and Videos on Indy: Auto-Discover Free Music to Download · · Score: 1

I would love to see something like this for indy short films and flash movies. You could input your favorite hollywood movies and get a list of the best small independant films or videos that are in that same genre. Think it would work?

Actually, Howard Stern has done pretty well with his unedited E show available on his web site for about $5 a show. THat might be a good model for some movies and TV shows

The format needs to be standardized.

Tivo is obviously pretty busy as they are also in talks to partner with comcast cable.

Can you read? I said unless you are the market leader or making revenues off of a related product, then the strategy is not a good idea.

  8. Re:I would buy a Mac... on Return of the Mac · · Score: 1

It is obvious you know little about business. First of all a mac is more expensive to produce then a crappy dell. It has quality parts and a processor that will run loops around anything you can get in a dell. It is a superior computer from a hardware standpoint. THat is why it costs more. You can argue the operating system point until you are blue in the face, but if you look at the statistics there is no dell on the market that can compete with the top of the line MAC. Second of all, there are numerous examples of a company selling a product for a loss in order to "generate a larger market share" and all these examples have something in common. The strategy backfired! Unless you are already a market leader (which apple is not) or unless the majority of your revenue comes from a different but related source (licensing) then this approach does not work.

  9. Media Coverage on MS Files for Broad XML/Word-processing Patent in NZ · · Score: 1

The evil empire strikes again. The government and the media is spending millions worrying about Jose Conseco and Michael Jackson. Why does no one do a mainstream story about how currupt and money hungry Microsoft is.

  10. Re:pointless? on Mozilla Foundation in More Development Trouble · · Score: 1

Firefox is Mozilla's most successful project. It would be a big mistake to seperate it from Mozillas organization. Mozilla gets a lot of exposure from firefox and firefox gets more support because of Mozilla.
