    Now it just remains to be seen whether or not Apple will modify the Mac OS to run on standard x86es, or if Intel will be adding specialized features to the chips they ship to Apple.

    At my office, we use NET SEND to talk to each other. It has nothing to do with productivity though, we're just all nerds.

    Obviously this is nowhere near the complexity you would require to mimic the human brain, but is it a start?

    Well, all the email obviously must go through a server(s) at some point. If those go down, the email is effectively down. If the client computers go down, You could still get your email from elsewhere, but in an office setting, thats usually not feasable.

    This brings up the question of could this be used to create a true AI, or perhaps even a way to store a human conciousness, which would have useful applications for people with major illnesses or injuries.
