  1. Re:Right... on Digital Baseball Umpires · · Score: 1

I believe that there is a greater varience to the strike zone then the 1% or so that the reports say. Since the Umps have actualy stated that they call a different strike zone when at a stadium equiped with QuesTec. If they all really called the correct strike zone, then it would not even be an issue for them to have QuesTec involved. But, based on what the Umps have said themselves, you can tell that there is a wide variety of strikezones called. They activly change their strike zone to the "correct" (by the rule book) strike zone when they are at the QuesTec parks. Why shouldn't they ALWAYS be calling the rule book strike zone?

  6. Digital Hacking Cheaper? on Hack Your Ignition (Before Someone Else Does) · · Score: 1

"Physical hot rodding isn't cheap because it often involves the inadvertent testing to destruction of new ideas and components. Digital hot rodding, though--where software is used to modify how a vehicle does something--is orders of magnitude cheaper and far more accessible."

I'm not sure about this... It is just as easy to throw a rod by changing your timing digitally as it is to break your engine with a new physical component.

I fully agree that the idea is to make the spectacle more exciting then the sport, but I highly doubt that any scripting of any kind is going on. They are just pulling the same kinds of things that MTV has been pulling for years with "The Real World" and "Road Rules" shows. Where on MTV the get to pick the most clashing people to live with each other with the XFL they basically just key in on the most obnoxious loud mouth players and wait for them to go off, which undoubtedly they will.

Could you seperate them from the caching of documents or mark them as perminant?
And could this be made transparent so that your anonymity would be safe and sound?
