How come everything 'GOOGLE' makes it to the frontpage of websites like these. I think Gates was right that every piece of crap Google touches turns into a hype. I mean; common people this is just a package with some random freeware in it. Be realistic, what really innovative and revolutionary product has Google presented to the public since it's search engine came online? Noting. Oh yeah, Gmail is 'nice'.
Having talked with the employment staff on my job I can tell you they could not care less about degrees from online universities and 'home studying' institutions. People with those degrees won't even be invited for job interviews. Sounds rough maybe but that's the way they think about it. And to be honest I don't expect much better from other employers here in Holland when you're aiming for a higher positioned job.
Can't really blame em, people tend to think getting a degree is just about reading books. But going to university is a social happening too, which will also shape you in important ways. Like acquiring people skills and social code common in the world of science and also higher positioned jobs. Showing that you made this your own is probably worth the better half of your degree. Even with studies like CS.
Actually I have my SC bsc and am now doing my master Sociology and depending on your previous fields of interests in SC it could be just the field of specialization you've been looking for. Plus employers definately value 2 degrees in different disciplines.
