  1. Enterprise WCMS? on $5000 Award for Open Source CMS · · Score: 2, Insightful

The problem is there is too many applications out there that call themselves Content Management Systems. They really need to be reclassified to reflect their capabilities, etc... I'm more partial to enterprise-grade content management. There are a couple of open source apps, in my mind, that could apply: www.alfresco.com -- managed by a group of ex documentum and Interwoven people. www.opencms.com

  2. Too Many on How To Choose An Open Source CMS · · Score: 4, Interesting

I think the OpenSource CMS market is getting too flooded... Do we really need another PHP/MySQL CMS? I know some people who are developing a commercial CMS product. I think they are crazy, since there are PLENTY of free CMS packages out there. If there is not need for a full blown enterprise CMS, why would you pay for a proprietary "non-free" application? How about a list of Open Source Enterprise Content Management systems? That would defintely be a shorter list.

Nobody uses Photoshop? To me thats like saying nobody uses Microsoft Word. Yes, there are alternatives, but I wouldn't ignore almost every design shop in the world... Photoshop is the standard.
