    *sigh*

Why does someone always have to preach this crap every time anything even remotely Nietzche-ish is proposed? Can't you holier-than-thou defenders-of-the-meek get off your high horses long enough to tell a joke when you see one?

  3. A self-styled 1337 H4X0R on Brainball! · · Score: 1

You know the type I'm takling about - no humility at all. Half their head is full of tech data and the other half is dedicated to arrogance.

  4. Re:yeah, so you and your geek buddies.... on Brainball! · · Score: 1

Ok: 1st of all, my post was tongue-in-cheek (not to be taken seriously)

But, since you have insisted on flaming me, I will tell you where you are wrong.

There is no imaginary "intimate tie" between all humans - we're all individual. Being "human" can be taken as lightly as I want - it's a loosely defined word at best. We're just the next best thing in pond scum.

As for your last two lines, they're ad hominum, and will be ignored.

Your roommate is living proof that the intolerably dumb 95% of earth's population needs to be neutered or exterminated.

  6. Offtopic?!?!?!?! on The Nine Continents of the Internet · · Score: 1

Ok, my post is offtopic, and I accept the tag. But how the hell is someguy's post offtopic? Katz says "Please feel free to add your own." Presumably, he meant with posts.
So someguy adds the monkeys, DIRECTLY responding to the article. Offtopic? His post was the polar opposite of offtopic.

What the fuck are you moderators on?

  7. You're more right than you know on Gates Steps Down As CEO, Ballmer In · · Score: 1

You called Gates the king. Lots of people think of him that way. That's why he stepped down. He still has lots of control and lots of money etc... However, it _seems_ like a change of management. MS doesn't have its king. Image is really important to coorperations, and everyone's image of MS was a big evil monopoly serving Gates. Now that Gates isn't part of the image, they have to make a new image. This gives MS the chance to influence people more - and save face. They knew quite well that everyone hated them.

Bah! It's news for nerds, and nerds like cult flicks! I love the evil dead movies, as I'm sure do a lot of you other nonconformists.

    "This is my BOOM STICK!"

  9. Fiat Stuff on A Canticle for Leibowitz · · Score: 1

"Fiat" is latin for "let there be"
    homo means man
    lux means light
I forget what the third one is
so let there be man and let there be light (enlightenment) are the themes of the first two sections

Consciousness? Call me old-fasioned, but, err
Aren't they still just running code, just more of it, and in more complex varieties? I think it would just be a simulation of consciousness, not the real thing. Are these scientists victims of new-age thought, or are they saying that human consciousness is just a program running on biological hardware?
