Depends on how you're using the blade. Against lightly armored or unarmored opponents a very sharp edge is great for lopping off limbs and such. Yes it will require a lot of sharpening to keep that edge but a blade of that quality would tend to be owned by someone wealthy enough to have trained personnel to do the sharpening for them after they'd been in battle. The grunt who sharpened his own weapon when he was at the point of exhaustion after a battle probably would never have the chance to wield a blade such as that.

I had an anthropology instructor state that humans have actually changed very little in the past 100,000 years or so. I believe that especially in light of so many times we discover that many discoveries in recent centuries were actually processes discovered and then forgotten thousands of years earlier. The biggest reason we THINK we've "progressed" so far is that at its core humanity is just a bunch of highly egotistical pricks..... We like to downplay our ancestors' accomplishments to make ours seem so much better.......

I can't lay hands on a link at the moment but I read some info a few months ago that the growth enhancement only applied in the CAFO situations. In an organic situation or pretty much anything else close to natural there didn't seem to be any enhancement to growth. So basically if you're raising animals in a stressful, filthy environment that reduces growth then low level antibiotics are just what you want to make them bigger, comparatively healthier (for that environment) and thus more likely to survive to slaughter time.

Nothing wrong with using antibiotics to cure a disease even of a farm animal if it's given a chance to clear its system before being sent to slaughter. The huge issue with antibiotics in "farming" is that they are fed at low levels to the animals in an attempt to PREVENT them from getting sick due to the extremely poor conditions they're being raised in. Sadly it ends up being cost effective for them due to the huge subsidies they get which basically allows them to sell the animals for LESS than what it costs to raise them under normal circumstances. There's no way I can buy chicks and raise them to slaughtering age for 99 cents a pound like you can get chickens for in the grocery store. (or even $1.29 a pound as I just saw in a Publix ad just now)

I've seen some stories of divers "rescued" by dolphins in what may have been more of a "Oh look! A SHARK!!! I HATE those things!!" than a "Oh look! A human in trouble! I must rescue them!" situation. And sharks may be just intelligent enough to not want to attempt to attack somebody with a dolphin swimming around them.

There was no "running up to the corner in your 4WD to get a loaf of bread" (I've seen a similar quote here before) as even Circle K was several miles away and trips to the grocery store were well planned and involved ensuring I had a couple coolers in the back of the truck to keep refrigerated and frozen foods that way on the trip back.

In the context of that amendment well regulated did actually mean something more like well trained. The expectation was that owning a firearm would require regular training to maintain proficiency. The 2nd amendment also gave the right to form militias and those have to have some level of "control by rule" etc. by somebody being in charge. No military unit, even a militia, can operate well as a total anarchy. That also is something that would require regular training to ensure the members of the militia could operate smoothly and efficiently.
