forgive me if I'm wrong, but as of yet, what features/functions has Apple promised us and not delivered? Aside from the whole 1984, change the world that we live in commercial, I have yet to be disappointed by Apple's products. Lawyer-vetted? Definitely. I think it's better this way so we don't have a million cooks telling them how to cook their soup.
They copied and pasted the American style of education of emphasizing theory over technical skills, which is why many universities nowadays tell you to go to a vocational trade school if that is what you desire, over studying the theoretical aspects of things (not to say that some universities do not provide this but you'll have to go to certain places for certain things). For instance, many years ago, you went university and BAM, as soon as you come out, you get a job that pays better than your coworkers even though you might not have the slightest idea of how to 'manage' or 'be a journalist'. Nowadays, the chances of you actually doing what you learned from school is increasingly rare and those who do are considered fairly lucky.
It's common knowledge that an engineering student after graduation may have to go to a community college or a technical school to pick up skills that the workplace demands to become more marketable and earn more money.
What the markets want is different from what the schools deliver to the students.
I guess we'll never find out about the people who have successfully hacked into NASA and avoided legal indictment to tell the tale of how they did it.
It's kind of like the winning the Olympic Gold Medal of Hackerdom no? Hack into NASA, get indicted by the FBI, you win teh intarweb.

UMD's are sony's proprietary media format, which as far as I know, is not going to be disclosed to the public. And, I understand that the memory sticks are bootable, so you just have to insert the memory stick into the PSP, hook up the USB plug, then you just upload whatever.
