If the records were publicly available, people would see that the majority of stolen items/vehicles are not found unless they are in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation or an actual stolen vehicle has been stopped. Last year there was a group of people that was stealing stuff out of peoples cards in a near by neighborhood. They pilfered stuff from cars for a month until they got pulled over because their inspection sticker expired. Successful criminals keep their cars clean, insured, up to date, and drive slow.
the field needs to be infused with the same entrepreneurial spirit that Scientists are not entrepreneurial. Accountants and managers can be. Per your premiss, " The accountants and managers decided that it was not cost effective to let bright people play with weird reactors.", the field needs to be infused with scientific spirit.
I agree. When I set out to replace all of my XUL code I eventually came to the realization that I should start with everything new. Everything I've used Java for has had to be recoded several times because of changes, and vulnerabilities, in the JVM. Using pure javascript and XML/SVG was close and with the exception of javascript is where I would like to be. However, there are some things that need heavy lifting. LLVM provides a way to work like you to in the world of compiled software, eg write ASM modules that you call in C/C++ functs to increase speed. I've seen attempts to do it with JVM but man where they nasty ugly and difficult, and that is a comparison to MASM which IMHO says a lot.
I was wondering how far down the page I would have to get before someone pointed out what should be obvious. Google's highest cost is energy. Getting into the energy business does two things. First it gives them what the tards a !Yahoo were too stupid to get into, a "brick and mortar" presence so they have a tangible value. Second, it removes the highest negative from their spreadsheet.
I think we should call it Obamabattery and have IRS fine anybody who doesn't use it $5 less than the companies charge and end up getting the same thing if we need to go to the store to get one.
Now all they have to do is upgrade all of their other "free" Microsoft stuff to be compatible, assuming they fell for this BS before.

Sadly in Texas there is a minimum you must pay regardless of how much of a risk you are. For example, if you fit within the age group least likely to have an accident, have never had a ticket, have never been in an accident, and never drive outside of the state, you will never be able to reduce your rate to below $35/mo. The only way to pay no insurance is to have a $250k bond, or own a fleet of 25 vehicles, or own a farm and the vehicle is used for "husbandry". The second bit is from back when the law was 6701 so has probably changed. That being said, if the state forced the insurance companies to reduce that to $5/mo I'm all in.
"Shooting at an unmanned aircraft could result in criminal or civil liability, just as would firing at a manned airplane." I thought manned airplanes flew at high altitude over my house because I WAS allowed to shoot at them. The trailer parks is getting to be a real drag.
My favorite part from TFA: In this case the XO is sporting parental controls that track usage and learning styles. The tablet also has a Journal app that details and breaks all this down for the parents
If anyone believes the information is "for the parents" I have some nice property to sell about 200 miles north of here depending on the tide and winds.
Books are primarily going to be sold for eReaders. They don't so much need "the nook" as much as they need an eReader. Applications for a competitor's hardware is known to be destined for failure when you compete with companies that do not play fair, U.S. v. M.S.. My money says selling books that will be read by someone else's software on someone else's hardware will always be less profitable than selling real books.
100% of all Scientists and engineers in the U.S. live in the U.S. On a serious note, I thought S&E jobs were located close to the fairchildren and military industrial complex.
What gQuigs said plus: You can run the apps on a desktop in an html panel so the can be desktop applets and phone apps. I haven't played with it a whole lot; but, I think it could be good for non-centralized applications.

It is loads of fun. Until the FBI beats down the door because you have radioactive material. Oh wait. They mean professionally.
The eye is in D.C. but the hole at the other end is here
Or as we refer to them here in Texas, whorcs.

To be fair, a lot of money was made ripping off old people. We all know moving money from savings accounts into the economy is a good thing.

fixed that for you
How am I going to connect the battery cables to it? /snark
Enough with the probing already!

You forgot, "get off my lawn".
Yeah. Duck season.

They counted my C++ features as bugs?

Agreed. FPS only.
Does this mean that, without crowdfunding, the game would simply not come into being? "Not quite," he says. "The product will be a lot better for players because of the crowdfunding.

Am I the only one wondering how water in California can be threatened by fire?
