Several dozen cars already have these implemented. That high end mercedes you drive with that neat traction control that wont let you slide thru an icy corner? well guess what.. That records that data for the last minute or so.. incase you DO get in an accident it gives the company some info about it.
Seen it in a Porsche accident.. guy swore he was doing 70 mph.. skid marks over 500 feet long.. Insurance worked with porsche and got the info and found out that he never hit the brakes until it was too late.
just what the topic says.. Ive seen the wireless TV+ internet service over the same equipment for more than a year.. is pretty sweet and price in line with regular cable.
With what I have run.. as long as i stay within the cell radius.. i could be doing 120mph and i will still have access.. leave the zone or move into another.. and youd basically have to reconnect.. just a minor glitch.. not bad for a system that allows for up to 3Mbps total usable bandwidth.. and cell radius of up to 9 miles omnidirectional.. and point to point.. maybe 15 miles:)
Actually YES.. because if the towers were cheaper I would have done it myself already...
see what i posted before "Tower owners want wireless broadband to pay as much as cellular customers.. which means up to $25k/month in high population areas... Tower ownership eats profits"
Please READ then post. so you wont look quite so idiotic.
Regular broadband wireless CAN be used while moving if you stay in the same zone area..
I would LOVE to find investors to do a Ricochet replacement only at speeds of about 1Mbps and better.. Wouldnt take much to start up.. Problem is finding an investor who wants his capital to go to startups in several cities at once...
I had a small wireless station myself where a few friends and I shared a T1 line.. it was very nice and very fast.. and the startup wasnt that much.. its the tower fees that will kill you:(
Tower owners want wireless broadband to pay as much as cellular customers.. which means up to $25k/month in high population areas... Tower ownership eats profits.
that being said.. Ricochet came out too soon with too low bandwidth for too much money. I can offer 1Mbps speeds for the same amount with simple equipment thats very reliable and works with Windows/Mac/Linux/BSD/Solaris.:)
Unless this guy invented this oh 40+ years ago.. then he is just copying and old design. Personally ive seen these at work.. and other than overstressing and then breaking the front suspensions on a midsized SUV (Pathfinder?) they seem like a good idea until you figure you would have to rebuild the front suspensions on anything you put this on.. and even rear suspensions werent meant to handle the stress of this.. plus it cant climb over much.. bad angle of attack with the treads. but for swampy areas or deserts.. this wouldnt be a bad thing if the vehicle was customized to handle the stress.
btw.. i Saw an OLD 50s?or early 60s truck in a museum once with basically the same thing... plus it kinda reminds me of the old ww2 german halftracks.
A fellow firefighter went on the Atkins diet for long term and had some organ shutdown (liver? maybe) the stress of the diet has now seriously messed him up forever.. i wouldnt recommend ANYONE go on the atkins diet for more than 1 week. just some advice.
http://www.xenu.net/news/ November 19 1999 My ISP is convinced by the arguments given, site is opened again!!! Another foot bullet from the cult, more publicity to the critics.
Damn all this talk and it was only closed for 2 days... geez.
and if something happens to them like happend to me. Divorce. I lost paperwork in move. no problem i thought.. just drive over to the courthouse and get copies. Courthouse had bad leak in a storm. Ruined comp systems AND 80% of documents dating back to the mid 1800s.
Now I still dont have any way to prove im divorced besides my word.
Speaking as someone who was caught up in worldwide media attention a few years ago the press just made up facts when I didnt talk to them about me. They made up a LOT of facts I found out later getting their scripts, FBI documents, talking to other witnesses.
Sad that the people who are supposed to be informing america just make up things when its too much of a bother to WAIT and be NICE and find out the truth.
Their tactics are brutal.. Answer my questions or else I will make up anything I want about YOU and your family. Phone calls 24 hours a day because when there is a news story.. the people in it never sleep do they? (I personally had to change my number 2 times because it rang nonstop for DAYS.)
So I am NOT suprised when people are finding out that the Colubine kids are not the terrible people that media made them out to be.
But who cares? I mean only those 2 kids.. because now they couldnt find a jury who would find them innocent no matter what because EVERYONE in america has heard about the RUTHLESS OUTLAW Trenchcoat Mafia that they were in.
Sad for the boys that now they cant have a fair trial. Oh Well just another day dealing with the media.
As a college student myself I like to tinker with software (my computer currently boots QNX/BeOS/win 95osr2/nt4/Mandrake Linux) and I like to program in VB and VC++ and VJ its simple and easy(ya I know its not TRUE Java or C++ but so what?)
and I just paid $99 for a copy of VB 6.0 that came with NT 4.0 service pack 3.
COME ON thats a good deal... $250 worth of software for $99 and it comes with a $200 OS?
Personally I think MS giving away products is A good thing because it exposes people to their software.. And with them now accepting cheap software.. you can entice them with more free software from Linux.
Personally IF i had to choose ONE OS to live with.. I would choose Linux right now.. But i cant live without NT or 95 or QNX or even BeOS.
And all you MS haters should love MS giving away software and not making money off it:)
NASAs building that are holding 4 of the shuttles right now are only built to handle 130 mph sustained winds. Floyds is up to 155 mph sustained... but will probally drop down to 130 hope hope:)
The buildings that are storing the shuttles are ENORMOUS... just the fact that they can with stand 130 mph SUSTAINED winds is an engineering marvel.
So me and NASA are gonna weather the storm here in South Florida. Im a volunteer firefighter so when/if the hurricane hits.. I will be out trying to put out fires and clear debris sooner than anyone else. All I hope is no fires break out during the storm... 100mph+ winds do NOT make for fun firefighting:/
India/Pakistan/Indonesia/Iran/Isreal and god knows who else has Nukes also..
What happens if one of THEM goes off from a y2k bug? Heh then we nuke them first and while we are nuking them.. Russia nukes us:)
Actually.. I am worried about a lot of the nukes and nuclear reactors that are NOT y2k bug free. Specially since im living here in Florida and Cuba wants to start up their Nuclear Reactor that they built in the 60s..

http://www.maximumpc.com/ did more or less this.. but they left the computer in the case and filled the case full of foam.
Though their computer would not boot after they filled it with foam.
Actually how are the AOL workers supposed to know whats local to every city in the world?
"Yes im in Nowheresville Arkansas.. and it shows 20 numbers for my area code..which ones are local??"
I would hate to be the one who would have to write a program that has to be constantly updated as to what cities are local to every other city..
UG just thinking about it.

so.. yes i DO know the details

water boils at 212 F at 400 F for 30 seconds the sweat would boil off him causing steam burns all over his body.
I am a Volunteer FireFighter. There is NO way any human can withstand that temp for 30 seconds with no damage.
Heat stroke.. severe burns. no eyes... remember eyes are filled with fluid that boils...
How would you like your eyes boiled out of their sockets?
and if something happens to them like happend to me. Divorce. I lost paperwork in move.

Any court documents you have if they dont have an official seal on them (meaning they are the originals) they really dont mean squat.
So they are very important.
Say like a Settlement in a lawsuit.. Name change..
divorce paperwork.
All very needed for the original.
So WHAT if people are printing more... :)

Technology will never totally replace a written contract.
