FYI - Guido built this system to work within the existing Google infrastructure, he didn't choose Perforce for the project. Guido also wants to eventually refactor it to work with many SCM including Subversion, CVS, etc. BTW, Perforce is used at many very-large-software-companies, so while it is not perfect, it is still very useful.

Of course this would happen. Lenovo is trying to cut to costs as much as possible. IBM as a brand can for double what Dell sells for, but Lenovo can't. One big way to cut the price, is to make the deal with MS. Cut out Linux support and Windows is suddenly much cheaper....

I just email stuff to myself. Now someone else backs up and makes my code available and searchable anywhere in the world. 2+gigs lasts a while.
