Probably for the same reason that Toyota chose a permanent-magnet synchronous that runs off of 500V DC for the Prius. Six big honkin' IGPT transistors convert the DC voltage to 3-phase AC with pulse-width modulation and variable frequency control.

This looks like a non-issue to me, but I certainly could be missing something... If you can log into a non-root account without being prompted for a password, it is an issue. And it is. I did have to "svcadm disable telnet" on all my Solaris-10 systems.

Passing that in 9 minutes gives you an average rate of 1.2 megawatts. What the hell knid of household has the circuit to handle that?
Clearly each car will have to come with two ultracapacitors. The one that stays at the house can take its time recharging; a 10-hour recharge time using 20 amps at 240 volts is not unreasonable. The stationary ultracapacitor could recharge the mobile ultracapacitor quickly using thousands of amps, and not even make the lights in the house flicker.

Will the new Tivo act as a secure recipient of HDMI content or does it even have HDMI in?
No, it does not have HDMI in. The only input is coax coming in from the cable TV company. The device has up to two CableCARD tuners so that it can record digital cable TV channels.

If you RTFA, you'll see that the devices in question are not using DNS. They are using a hardcoded IP address, so DNS would not solve this problem.

Looks like, at least in parts, the imagery is from an older dataset than what's on the Keyhole service.
