I wonder how fast Daniel Tammet could factor this number. It's amazing that this man could be able to factor an RSA200 number in milliseconds while it takes combined computing power 50 years to do.
I'm almost sick of/.ers whining about seeing advertisements. I understand that they waste your precious time between arranging Beowulf clusters of anything you get your hands on and google image searching for pictures of Natalie Portman naked and petrified, but come on.
If it wasn't for these big evil corporations advertising their products, you all would be out of your jobs. If HP didn't have catchy tunes on the tele, no one would be buying the services you provide in between welcoming your corporate overlords and posting complaints on/. and if Intel didn't have a nice big stake in the Blue Man Group, you couldn't afford your trolling habits anyway.
I thought the article was funny and worth the 2 minutes it took to read it.
In other words, chill out!
It is fascinating to me how human beings can be so full of themselves to call a bullseye a "complex shape". Newsflash: The human body and all the mechanisms within it is a "complex shape" that is instigated and maintained by cell-cell communication.
To me, this article just shows how far we are behind controlling the actual root processes involved in biological systems. This is like a pre-historic artist in a cave writing with his own feces on the wall of some cliff somewhere, while the complex artistic qualities of nature are all around him.
Scientists, what will they think of next.
"Odds that Mr. Darren Waters' review of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is merely the standard ploy of all reviewers (namely spouting vague subjective judgements regarding highly complicated works of art and getting paid per eyeball cast upon the rubbish *rubbish being the review not necessarily the subject of the review) and that the movie will actually be hilarious, 1 to 1 and holding steady. Please resume your normal activities and don't worry about it. No really, forget about the review and see the movie. Thank you."
On a scale of 1-23, how challenging was the task of casting mattresses for the part of Zem the Mattress? I mean, I've never even seen a talking mattress, I've only read about them in books. Do they have a seperate guild in Los Angeles, or do you have to go abroad to find talent?
Enquiring minds want to know.
Imagine if the government decides to rule on the side of interoperability http://digitalmusic.weblogsinc.com/entry/123400090 0039337/
If you can hear the sound of all Sony and Apple's R&D money flushing down the toilet with one pass of the government's mighty pen, you might be ahead of the game.
It's true there's a slim probability of the interoperability legislation going into effect, but the saber rattling is always unnerving.

" Inquiring you dumb fuck."
Both are accepted, actually.
