the recommendation was an old one. not a recent one.
and, anyways, what is it with people trying to prove that macs can be hacked or infected? Any operating system has some kind of vulnerability or another. The real issue is whether the operating system in question was designed with security in mind, or did the company that produce it barely care until very recently and are trying their best to patch things over?
I can't trust Microsoft to prioritize security over their other agendas.
Macs are pretty much as safe as it gets for a casual user.
Do not question the fundamental issue that this is morally wrong and you are being slowly squeezed into a little cage, without resisting us.
Instead, we promise we won't do it again. Oops, heh, sorry!
Prepare for a whole new world of security flaws, user spying, monopolizing ad revenue and more such Microsoft greed. They can't possibly get it right and they will never do it with the best interests of the user in mind.
This may possibly be their complete downfall. Vista is bad, but its not bad enough to topple their big market share. This, however, will be their death knell.
Only Apple and Linux (and users as a whole) will stand to gain. Which, I suppose, is for the best.
Seriously... someone's got to make the simple point of asking why they need this. Sweden doesn't even have any emotional event like 9/11 to point to in order to induce people to comply.
This is an embarassment to the rest of Scandinavia.
>> Apparently the submitter skimmed the article, and decided to post up a Vista bash on Slashdot.
Erm, did you miss the part of the article after that, which states that the problem occurred _with_ and _without_ Kapersky, but in cases with Kapersky, it was simply more exacerbated.
pfft... im not impressed. i wrote an arkanoid clone in vb when i was 10, through sample code that came with vb. I had friends who could do some assembly too. the difference is that I didnt get any special training or books and I didnt have parents or a countries pr machine making a big hooha about it and boosting my ego. many many more people are capable of the same, but just didnt get the same attention and encouragement in life. is it the The Flynn effect or something else?
i see those self-heating coffee things so rarely though. Is there something wrong with them, or was it a waste pf R&D dollars because there was no market for it?

People... they are talking about Myspace. Apparently most modern browsers are vulnerable to Myspace.
