    there's always the "suspend to ram" feature. it works great and "boots" back up in about 3-5 secs. but it really isn't a real boot.

    personally, i'd like to do away with booting altogether and not just a fast-boot. i don't know if that's technically feasible now but maybe in the future when software has finally come out of the primordial soup age.

    apparently your reading comprehension is at grade school level, i.e. 3rd grade.

    he meant that it'll take more than a gnat bite to bring them down, NOT that they're immortal.

    and yes, the future is unknown. perhaps it will really be something small and benign that'll do them in but from this vantage point, it *seems* unlikely.

    if you want to play a real spy, you'd have to find ways of overthrowing "unfriendly" governments, introduce biological agents into massively populated regions full of brown and black people in order to reduce the population / experiement on / sterilize them, also last but not least, you would have to disguise yourself and commit heinous and brutal crimes and blame them on "terrorists" in order to sway public opinion to go along with your plans of world domination.

    we could even say these spies belong to such unknown organizations as CIA , Mossad and MI6.

    it's kind of tricky but why not, let's find a developer who would be willing to try.

    finding a decent human to play with is the achilles heel of the gaming industry.

    the day that bots start saying "SFTU FAG" etc etc is the day i will.... uh convince the developers to reconsider...

    argh, and don't forget the massive cheating, vulgarity, a**holes, etc.

    if they stop making single player games.. i guess i'll have to find a new hobby.

    except a pc is yours to do with. it can do far more things than a console can.

    so if your mac costs 1.5-2x as much as a pc, do you get 1.5-2x the pleasure?

    what you spend your money on is basically no one elses business.

    as long as you own your own property, do with it as you please.

    i don't care if you live in a closet, being able to buy a ps2 and gamecube but refusing a free xbox based on size is a completely rediculous reason.

    it's about some perceived coolness factor that only a weirdo (to us) native can see.

    they are just plain idiots, even if i were japanese i'd tell that to people there... as long as they were smaller than me ;)

    it is blatantly immoral and even illegal... if anyone has the balls (and $$$) to call them on this.

    i suppose you don't recall that all next gen console use IBM power cpus... with the cell specifically having been built from scratch to support DRM.

    maybe another reason that people haven't been buying INtel up till now is that the fact they are evil sobs.

    even if by some miracle, AMD cpus were 10x slower than intel ones, i'd still buy amd or give up on computing.

    i'll leave it up to you to find the details of why they are evil, if you are so inclined.

    there would be no motivation to copy things if copyright law was in the least bit reasonable.

    1+ century (to be extended again soon) copyright durations, DMCA and other draconian laws, criminalization of non-profit infringement, things like that really piss people off.

    what the market will bear indeed...
