Bravo! Excellent response, you re-opened every gap in the argument I tried to close. I could spend ten or so minutes patching the holes in the wall you just skillfully made, but you'd just tear it down again. Before this turns into a flamewar (those are ugly), lets just leave it at this. If you really want to continue this type of discussion, you know my email address.

Weren't satisfied with my last source of information? Try this one.

Hey, it's only slashdot. I wouldn't give two cents for my karma rating. Where's your information? Really, I want to know. Please enlighten me on how "factual" and "objecive" the Da Vinci lie is.

I'm sorry if you saw my post as an attack on someone else's faith. I was merely correcting the statements they made about mine.

4th century control group, eh? Has someone been reading too much davinci code? That book was six loads of bull spit. (Yes, I said I wasn't catholic. I'm sticking to that. However, they wrote a really great page on how ignorant Dan Brown is.)

Thad'd be catholics, anonymous. So no, we're not thinking of the same Christianity. By the way, it's a fact that condoms do no prevent the spread of STDs effectively. There is, however, a nearly sure-fire way to prevent STDs, but no one likes it: Don't have sex with more than one partner. Is you're partner clean? You? If the answer to both questions is yes, get married and live happily ever after.

Take a look: That is the longest run on sentence most slashdotters have probably seen in their lives.

Okay, I am done being a grammar nazi. It would be nice for you to answer a few questions, though: What group pays money to protect sex offenders? Not Christians, I assure you. Telling africans not to use condoms? No, not that either. Many churches donate money to medical research facilities and mission trips to Africa, where the teachings of Christ discourage promiscuity - the number one cause of the spread of AIDS and HIV. No one is asking the government to give to fundamentalists, most Christians I know give their own money to churches in addition to paying taxes, and spend money they sometimes don't have sending their kids to Christian schools. Lastly, according to the interpretation of Revelation that I believe, the apocalypse will not involve the destruction of earth: the "falling stars" refer to nuclear war that will kill one third of the population, and many other things will happen leading up to the return of Christ. The Earth never gets destroyed.

What kind of witch are you, anyway? The religion most people will assume you are referring to involves the worship of Satan, evil spirits, and blood the sacrifice of living things. The only other wiccanism I know of is a cult invented in the 20th century: If you're one of them, I congratulate you. You are part of a religion younger than your parents.

Many who hate Christ point to the crusades as their reasoning, ignoring the fact that the crusades were not condoned by scripture. The pope got antsy and made a power grab, using the illiteracy and ignorance of the populace (and the lack of a translated bible) to control them by playing "God says".

This is my first slashdot post: I've been a reader for more than a year, ignoring comments by atheists and the like about fundamentalism in schools because they have a point: It's unconstitutional to push your views on someone else. I've noticed that a California courts ruling to allow two weeks of muslim teaching in a public middle school has gone comletely unnoticed by the liberal media... I cannot help but wonder if that would be the case against Christianity.

This is not a flame, it is merely a factual correction. Lies and dishonesty make me vey angry, and in addition to being incoherent, none of what you said was true.

Here's the part that'll get me modded down by supporters of "free speech": Jesus loves everyone. No matter what you've done, he will accept and forgive you. Bin Laden can go to heaven, although he is a very, very bad man. Billy Graham could go to hell if he hadn't accepted Jesus as his saviour. Since this is slashdot, I'll spare you all the rest of the sermon and refer you to my email address if you want to know more about Jesus. misterfett (at) gmail (dot) com.
