Backbone dosent transport at those speeds? Is he reffering to his Backbone? IDK bout you guys. I have Optimum online with the basic 15Mbps d/l speed. I normally d/l at ~1mbyes/sec. Now im pretty sure that backbone for the US is the same. I experince Lag with some MMORPG's but im on High pop servers. What backbone is he talking about?

Remember Star Trek. Scotty was the miracle worker, remember Why? Beacause he always added extra time to complete the task. He didnt work faster or slower he just told kirk it took longer then expected. It worked because Krirk wasnt an engineer he was a "Manage" Remember this: Everything I ever needed to learn, I learned from Star Trek

I think that this is a creat vicroty for the OpenSource commumnity. Encourageing OS development turns the heat up for the closed source developers (Microshaft). Giving them more incentive to develop means that we are going to see more companies giving up there source code and thus inceasing the quality of the product.

As Internet professionals, we often forget that a large part of our society is actually afraid of the Internet. Although online shopping is growing, most people still have concerns about online security and the impersonal nature of the web. Most people do not know how to surf efficiently and use only the default tools that are given to them when they take their computer out of the box.

I took a class on ethics and morality once. Very intersting problem arised in one of the lecture's:

Wife has a disease. Doctor has the cure for the disease which cost's $1,500. The doctor charges $5,000 for the cure to all his paitients. The Husband tells the doctor that he and the wife only have $2,000. Doctor refuses to give the cure to the wife because they dont have enough money. Husband breaks into doctor's office steals the medicine and leaves the $2,000. The question that arose was if the the husband did anything wrong or did the doctor?

should the doctor have lowered the price for this instance?

did the husband break the law by stealing the medicie but leaving enough for base cost plus a little extra?

either or the husband stole the medicine but left enough for the cost of it now the doctor is not going to be able to pay for that extra trip to the golf course.

So please, before you trash Congress for against "the will of the people," bear in mind that is exactly why Congress exists; so that when the time is appropriate, Congress can go against the majority of the people in order to protect the minority.

Just like congress did during the Bush elections right?

to quote Spock: "The Needs of the many out weigh the needs of the Few, or the one"

My say so what if we piss off the minority. Theres few of them. thats a minority. If the minority decides that the majority should be slaves that walk around doing all there work, Then congress can over ride the majority. I know thats a poor example due to congress having to obey the constution but thats what the supreme court is for. we have shifted over the years the way Kirk changed Spock view: "the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many" whats wrong with this logic?
