Webkit is not some single idealized web parser. Just because something works in Safari when it is broken in Chrome does not mean it is not a webkit bug. Both Apple and Google ship different SVN checkouts of webkit to which they each apply some release specific patches.
If Firefox 4 starts, assuming you are on Windows, would you try disabling hardware acceleration in tools > options > advanced > general > browsing. If that helps your system has video card drivers that are incompatible with Firefox. Updating the drivers should help. If you have any crash report IDs http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Mozilla+Crash+Reporter explains how to retrieve them. They would be very helpful in diagnosing the problem.
If you are on Windows or Mac OS X try typing about:crashes in the address bar should provide some crash reports. If you would like reply to this with the ids and I'll take a look.
Or you can just use the UI in the Options/Preferences in privacy, When using the location bar, suggest history only. More details at Smart Location Bar, Controlling behavior
Was fixed in 3.5.1 Mozilla Firefox 3.5.1 release notes See the section What's new in 3.5.1, you will find. "An issue that was making Firefox take a long time to load on some Windows systems."

If you get the Mozilla crash reporter check for a crash id in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/submitted/ are there any crash ids?
Because it has not been released, if it was it would be where all the other betas are. ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ There would be an announcement to https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/announce-prerelease . There would be download links at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html What they are linking to is a possible build of Firefox 4 beta 1.

These things never went past the blog post stage. A plugin/code was never released for either Chrome Frame or ScreamingMonkey.
This is very much in the works but won't make 3.6. Content Processes

If the Mozilla Crash reporter appears try and get a crash id for the report. If you have any questions you can email me at ./_username at gmail or reply to this thread.
