Of course you do not need DeCSS to make illegal copies. The data from legal DVD playback software MUST be decrypted before it is sent to the display. It is _NOT_THAT_DIFFICULT_ to intercept this data on a system running Win98

Yup! That's what I thought too.

I wish someone would moderate the above post up, there has been several disagreements to whether or not you actually need DeCSS to copy a DVD.
It would be good to have this established once and for all.

My understanding is that intercepting the data at display_driver level will let you redirect the data, after being decrypted, to a file.

There. Done. Copied. DeCSS? What's that?

LinNeighbourhood and another program which I can't recall have been browsing SMB networks for quite some time now.
I haven't seen Corel's explorer, but a screenshot and other people's comments seem to indicate it's good.
I have to admit, I kinda like the windows explorer. It does what I need, and it does it "fairly" well.

Well, sure. Okay, so I was ;)

Maybe we could get a communist Linux distro..
It would feature dynamically allocated resources and decent surveilence tools.
we could call it Lenux or Stalix :)

    Ah look!

My first post on SlashDot features no line breaks, a double signature, and probably a few spelling mistakes.

That'll teach me to use the preview button from now on.

Heh, now there was a game! Promoted as the first Christian Computer game, it starred the player as The Saviour of souls who had to save possessed people (Who would fire guns upon thee in the name of Satan, Lord of all that is Evil and oeegoee) by throwing the fruit of faith (apples and bananas) on these evil sinners. It feature crap graphics, annyoing beeps, and scored a whopping 14% in PC Format back in 92 or sometime back then. Anyway, if this game features a trip to hell, maybe I can finally find out if the road to hell really is paved with good intentions, or, as others have suggested, frozen life insurance salesmen. -- You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on
