    No, they would be owners of a shiny plastic disc. Apple retains ownership of the software. Users of software do not become owners of the copyright held in the software.

    That's like saying that if you buy a book, you own the pieces of paper but not the letters on them. It's nonsense.

    No, you're paying for the vaule-added services Redhat provides. (Media, support, extra non-free programs) The software itself is free.

    This can be done i WinNT/2K as well.

    Fire up regedit, search for "CompletionChar" and set it to "9"

    This is not a user friendly way to do it, and is not meant to rebuke your post, only as information to other readers :)

    Twenty years for movies and music. No particular reason for that figure, but it seems reasonable that after a generation changes in style and taste would render old movies/music finacially worthless outside of the people who collect "classics".

    Why? Does being an MCSE automatically mean that you're not clued up on techie things?

    If someone reverse-engineered one of your patented trade-secrets

    I hate to be a bore but AFAIK a patent requires you to publish the information, which kinda defeats the purpose of a trade secret.

    Basically, you patent OR trade secret, but you can't have both
    This means that if your precious secret is discovered, youre out of luck.

    Now, if your secret was discovered Illegally, you could sue, and prevent the publishing/spreading of your secret.
    This is what the DVD CCA are arguing, that he violated an EULA by reverse-engineering.

    Jon is quite adept at answering questions like this

    I read a similar interview with him held at www.vg.no (Norwegian newspapers web site) and I was very impressed by the way he answered all questions in a serious and proffesional manner.

    He was obviously chosen as spokesman(?) for MoRE for a reason

    That being said, I actually would find it intresting to see Jon reply to something like this.
    But that's just my twisted intrests.
