The ViewSmart software which is now free stops everything(no spyware in it). And on top of the dangerous site it warns you and doesn't allow any intrusion.
Unlike the others that keep a record, since this is a visual search engine it can be scanned live.

One of my fears would be that this would be like Voyager... Gilligans Island in space. Every time they are close to contacting or getting home they come up with a storyline that makes them fail.
Atlantis had the intelligence not to go this route which makes it a very good series.

This is a small program that not only blocks all of the spyware and adware, but warns you on the screen of the website before you go there if there is an attempted download (which is blocked).
To me, this is cheaper than throwing away a computer.

The reason we can make it safe is because it's the first ever VISUAL search engine. Rather than seeing the results in a list you see then in windows. Since we can scan the pages as people use them we can stop everything. If a page would download something to your computer we stop it and post a stop sign and a warning.

After developing the application we decided it would be better suited to build it directly into an existing platform and we chose the Gecko engine. It's currently being programmed. I think to say there is no way to safely browse is just wrong. You just have to know how to protect people from the ways hackers get into your computer.
