Removing the antennae may not totally disable the wifi though.
Generally it's not recommended to run any radio device with the antennae removed. If the device tries to transmit through the connector, all the output power will get reflected back to the module, potentially damaging it.
WTF is "Rake" and why should anyone care? I gather it's some sort of Ruby thing, but again, why should anyone care?
I either didn't know about Rake or Jim Weinrich before these news. It's indeed kind of awkward to hear about the software and the guy for the first time, when the developer dies.
I've been mostly fine with the UX of Unity, but it really is a damn laggy and slow desktop, and also buggy as heck. I thought Canonical had the resources to set things straight but the quality assurance is just horrible. The Fedora KDE spin is my current happy place in Linux world.
How about the newest SimCity or Thief, then? I'd say there is currently a slight trend in the marketing department to rename titles back to the first one.
Yeah, but the object-oriented approach and COM/NET integration are quite badass features. Either way, we should be innovating and not take the crusty UNIX shell for granted (even though it is very good too).
Wouldn't the situation be same under other operating systems?
Wrong coin, dumbass. Still cool link tho.

Not sure if you're suggesting the beta site has been fixed already or suggesting its unfixable.
IMHO the Beta is getting better.
Apparently it does not take much to make you grumpy. :D
At least I like for someone to keep my air conditioning information up to date.

My understanding is that it may have been a heart attack.
Source?
I don't know really. There's still some rough edges, but the Slashdot Beta isn't that painful to use anymore.
But this is probably the first time when the consumer has a realistic option of obtaining a VR system at home which can play a 360 movie.
So this should be a completely novel idea or otherwise it isn't worth anything?

Why?
Excellent, thanks!
In Soviet Russia, someone could order you to be delivered in the trunk of a car.
With their head bobbing around while fucking?
Yeah, the Beta is morphing from a "complete trainwreck" to just a "garbage can". ;)
Now, I wish the full article summaries were shown in the front page.

Call me whatever you want, but I never got the hang of the more recent games.
Have you tried the more recent games, then?
Not if you pick a lower-power card from the upcoming Maxwell line-up.
but you miss the point - the unix shell works, and still works today. So why try to break it by changing it in the name of "progress".
The improvements I mentioned about PowerShell are actual progress in my book.

I agree with that.
Hey guys, the bastards seem to have fixed the narrow comment layout of the Beta site.
