What I have found nasty is that Google dumps non-letter characters off the search. For example it is seems to be impossible to search for the exact phrase "++a" (can't think of a better example right now).
I've been using Unity on my netbook for a little more than a year now.
Unity was never my problem with the OS, and I've enjoyed it.
Have you experienced any performance problems? I am pleased with the layout of Unity but it's always just damn sluggish, for why I prefer Gnome Shell instead.
Core2Due (Q6000) here. Just found out my Asus P5B-Deluxe has at least one bad cap next to one of the PCIe slots. For me, Ivy-Bridge is the holdout. Besides, I prefer a mature platform over a new one. Microcode updates rolled up in the latest BIOS revisions not withstanding.
This iPad vs. Pixel Qi comparison picture really shows the important difference. The Qi might not have the best colors, but for text and simple images it is good. The iPad and most other laptops and tablets are hard to use outdoors. See this demo image, too.
I was going to write a fake headline for this, making fun of the idea that of course a next generation product will meet or exceed a current product. That's how technology works, for chrissake. Then I realized that was the real headline. Doesn't this story belong in the "Duh" section of slashdot?
That's not the point here. What makes the story interesting is that another rather small company is rivaling Apple's cutting edge technology.
I actually like when people turn things upside-down, I would appreciate for them to do it more often, to better see the both sides of the issue. So indeed, in about 56% of the cases the treatment fails. Although, that's still almost two times better as the traditional treatment group (where 74% fails). That means it's still useful.
I'm still a bit skeptic about this D3 buzz lately. I think the biggest thing cheering you up when being outside is all the direct impact to your senses: feeling the warmth of the sun, looking ants marching and enjoying spare ribs and beer with your mates. I myself live in Finland though, so without doubt I would probably still get some benefits from vitamin D.
I've always wondered what exactly it is that causes solar panels to "wear out". Is it exposure to sunlight and/or weather? Degradation of interior components?
If you look at a turned off CRT, you can see that the phosphor material is not completely black, it's always a bit grey. This would suggest that by using a very good TFT monitor, you could get even better black level.
I read those LSL Kickstarter pages some days ago, and they read exactly like some April Fools joke. It appears they are serious and I wish them luck, but just look at this piece from the FAQ, for example:
Our good friends over at Tell Tale have licensed King's Quest from Activision. If we do our job right then maybe, just MAYBE we'll be able to partner with them and ruinite the Space Quest team, King's Quest team (go Roberta!!!!) and Police Quest team for re-makes or new versions of those (Space Quest 7 anybody?).

When you think about it, Opera is actually the browser with the least bullshit right now.
and it's running fine with 625MB of used memory in a single core 1.6GHz laptop CPU.
You cannot really use Hz to describe the performance of a CPU anymore. There's a big difference between 1.6GHz Atom and 1.6GHz Celeron M, for example.
I think we also slashdotted it.
Maybe he preferred a bit more discreet option than "nuking it from the orbit".
As I see your message twice now, I assume it can be seen in 3D using some special glasses.

Or, you can just replace the cap...
The CPUID Wikipedia page seems to have a listing of them.
I bought 2dB of potatoes today!

Turns out the screen isn't that good at any of the things it was hyped to be: good color inside, good b&w outside.
Those are not the main qualities Pixel Qi displays are designed for. Their big thing is very good sunlight readability outdoors.
What's your high-paying professional job, then? If you are talking about yourself and it is OK to ask...
This is a good example of the highly sophisticated discussions for which I come to Slashdot.

the panels can last 30 years.

All materials deteriorate over time.
That's correct, sir.
Ability to display perfect black color;

And I'm selling a meta-guide which assists in interpreting your guide and refining it to practical applications.
I will carry your comment to University of Helsinki for deep etymological review.
For anyone who's interested, here's a nice beer talk at Google:

Cheers.
Ben & Jerry's? They are the "Monster cable" of desserts. No sane person buys ice cream for the prices they are asking.
