You might want to check out craigslist.org, in my opinion it's one of the better community sites. A lot of people in the bay area, california who doen't even own a computer themselves use craigslist.

I would want to put X on OS-X so I can run X-windows programs. It is kind of frustrating knowing that you are so close to running everything you want on a mac, but not quite there.
If X was on OS-X all of the programs written for X-Windows could run on OS-X, this would be very cool.

Yes some of the new installers ask you if you want to install "Brodcast", but the old installers don't and even if you say no the DSSAgent is still installed but not activated. So there methods are still questionable. This is quite interesting considering the fact that the installer didn't mention anything about Brodcast untill after the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act went into effect.

Granted, a browser is not the most complicated piece of software in existance, but it is one of the most important peices of software today. There are a lot of people who buy a computer for the sole purpose of running a browser.

Look at the iMac adds, Apple is marketing iMacs as "cars" for the internet, meaning you plug them in, connect to the internet, and launch a browser. Browsers act as a medium for other applications, I don't mean as in Java but the whole web itself.

Consider this quote from Open Sources.

    Open sources, Tim O'Reilly

What's interesting is that the killer application is no longer a desktop productivity application or even a back-office
enterprise software system, but an individual web site. And once you start thinking of web sites as applications, you soon come
to realize that they represent an entirely new breed, something you might call an "information application," or perhaps even
    "infoware."

Well Sony thinks this is a big enough problem to constitute rubber? coating the PS2 boards to prevent chipping. This of course adds $10 to the manufacturing price. I'am not sure if this is actually going to be the case, but the idea has been brought to attention more than once. Joshua Yambert
