The most interesting thing that you said was about some games being played in front of a TV screen with a joypad. Could you play Warcraft 3, or C&C, or any RTS on a console? Does the current batch even support using a mouse? Similarly, Sound is also important. Haveing a great surround stereo is possible for a console because is also doubles as your home theatre, but would you have a system of similar quality around a PC? I think not as you would probably want to watch your DVD's on your 80cm TV rather than your monitor. The fact that PC's have a linear improment (every week there is a new games that needs that extra 5% power) while consoles are digital (buy one and you can run all the games designed for it on it), means that it will always be a difficult choice.
