I used to buy the UK equivalent of that mag, the first 10 or so pages were mostly content as was the last 1/5th of the mag. In between was a huge section of nothing but adds. So I'd break the spine, tear out the ad section and throw it away just after leaving the shop.
They slimmed it down later, intermingled the ads and I stopped buying it:-)
The deal Apple has wil be similar to real world distribution or retail deals.
This is promotion for Apple, so the record companies will not pay for it.
Yes, I understand that. But even Apple can't give away songs on iTunes without paying for them. They can forego their cut, but the record companies will still have to be paid.
But illegally downloading a $500 dollar piece of software and using it doesn't necessarily cost the company anything.
There are three options:
1 Buy
2 Download illegally
3 Don't get it at all
Most people, if they can't do to 2 will go to 3 rather than 1.
Where can I get that FAQ? I've looked on Adobes site and all I can find is a list of camera's that CS2 can access Raw data from (including my 10D).
I don't see the big deal about all this. How many people even use RAW mode, as opposed to JPEGS?
And you get software with the camera (or can use photoshop) to get at the data, and it's not going to wear out is it?

The BBC is one of the few things Britain can really be proud of, and a lot of that's because it doesn't have advertising.
Many of the other systems don't provide MP3s! They use DRM'ed WMA, which can't be legally converted to another format.
Good idea!

But most of the income to iTuens goes tp the labels, so even $30 spent there would gain Apple, what, $10? So they still lose $15.
Hmmm, ten iPods is probably enough to beat Coldplay to death with though...
