Even more simple.....
1. Download Track
2. Burn Track to CD (this removes DRM and converts to AIF)
3. Insert CD into computer and copy back to iTunes
4. Voila, DRM free music with no info attached
Can it access the iTunes store?
Will it sync with my ipod/phone?
Can I access my iTunes-U account with it?
Answers: No....
So there is no competition really.
Sorry to disappoint.
If you don't need defender, you can kill it (but don't recommend for novice users) as it is the final defense against spyware if the user is stupid enought to fully click through to allow a bad application to run. I use a mac.... What is spyware?
P2P is two way, but you can still use it to download without sharing copyrighted material.... All you have to do is create an upload folder full of blank text files.. 100 or so should do it. Limewire (for example) then allows you to select a different download folder to your upload folder.
You don't have to share the material you are downloading... you would be foolish to do that anyway. Share what you own and download what you need. Don't be greedy and don't get caught.

"In UK English "misspelt" is an acceptable variant." Surely you mean 'proper' English as in the Queen's?
