If you think Javascript is the worst part about web development, and not the browser DOM and API, then you don't know web development. Javascript is the easy part. Cross-browser/cross-platform DOM/CSS/API issues are still going to haunt WebAssembly, and Javascript developers are just going to laugh at people who don't understand that.

Microsoft doesn't really support it, but JSC is a javascript compiler that can create.exe's and.dll's out of javascript, and it is still included with.NET and is on every windows computer with.NET installed.

Apple hardware is not the best, especially the MBP 2011 variety - Apple was sued in a class action for the 10s of thousands of 2011 Macbook Pros that died suddenly due to overheating. The replacement logic boards from Apple also die after just a couple of months of use, and nothing can fix that - the 2011 MBP is doomed to failure, and it's just a matter of time before yours dies too. Just google "2011 mbp class action" if you don't believe me.
I was one of the first guys "in the C64 scene" to get a 2400baud modem, but quickly found that the RS232 i/o code in the C64 was inefficient and was causing errors, it couldn't handle 2400 bits per second. So I modified one of the most popular C64 terminal programs with my own assembly code that was fast enough to handle the new speed.
Also worked on code for a few "elite" BBSs for C64 importing/cracking groups. I still have the print-out of the C64 BASIC code that ran one of these sites, tattered and faded. I'm still writing code today and looking back, the line lumbers make me shudder.

I have 37 years expereince programming and while I find curly braces absolutely mandatory, the semicolons are something I could do without. I don't need them to find my way around code, but I include them for people who complain about "missing semicolons" in languages where semicolons are optional.

Yes, I've been creating desktop applications for 10 years using JScript.NET - I can create an.exe GUI application, or a command line utility, or even a.dll - all using javascript. Now there's also NWJS, and Electron which combine nodejs with a chromium browser front-end. It's very easy and VERY powerful.
Javascript is great, there are plenty of people that can see that - and you're a cranky old troll. Acting superior to others based on programming language preferences is a tired old thing to do. You may as well be huffing your own farts. While you're crying about how bad javscript is, millions of programmers are enjoying getting work done with it. Enjoy your obsolescence, neckbeard.

He got rich on the internet early on, then started a few more companies that are doing fairly cutting-edge things.None of that means he's on to something when he talks about our universe being a computer simulation. He's just as error-prone as anyone, the mind can trick itself into believing almost anything. I have no doubt that like other tech visionaries, he uses marijuana (maybe a little too much?), which could explain this line of thought. He's also a little too sure of himself, bolstered by the yes-men around him. The sad part is all the millions of Elon fans might hear this and start to think it's possibly true. It's a shame he said this publicly, it doesn't make him look smarter for having said it.
