A study I completed recently found that a staggering 100% of criminals start out as non-criminals. If we can get non-criminal's DNA in the data bank, our chances of apprehending criminals will rise dramatically.
This doesn't come as a surprise to me. I remember reading a similar study some years ago, only then it was people's work desk that was compared to toilets with respect to number of bacteria.
Although these numbers may be somewhat surprising, I really don't buy the whole 'OMG your desk/keyboard has tons of bacteria and you touch it all the time without washing!!' thing. Obviously it doesn't make you sick, so what's wrong?! I bet being exposed to all these bacteria actually keeps your immune system sharp.
Im starting to feel pretty despaired over the cludgework that Big Bang theory has become. Mysterious dark energy to explain the expansion of the universe, mysterious non-baryonic dark matter to explain the rotation curves of galaxies, and super-duper inflation speed of the earlier universe to explain the homogenity of the cosmic background radiation. This situation is screaming for a new beautiful theory to replace this mess and Im getting more and more convinced that may turn out to be plasma cosmology.
Also philosophically, this will be interesting as we've now become used to a universe with a beginning in time, and this creation is a very appealing/comfortable idea to us it seems. If plasma cosmology turns becomes the accepted theory, our universe no longer has a beginning in time, which is a bit of a challenging idea philosophically/religiously.
I just hope he's using something more sleek than my Logitech Quickcam for his ass-probe, or there's going to be a lot of pain and suffering in Vietnam....

As if companies paying slashdot to post their product ads wasn't bad enough, now they are actually paying to get them duped too!
