And the people who use Windows tend to be the people that end up using whatever OS is installed in their computer anyway.

Seriously?? Yeah.. it sure couldn't be that people want to have easy access to the largest library of business and personal software on the planet, right? I hate to be the one to break it to you, but there are plenty of people who choose to use Windows, especially in the real (ie business) world. I'm not saying Windows is perfect or always the right choice, but there are lots of valid reasons to choose Windows.

My head and heart are with Bob Barr, but there is reality to contend with.

If your head and heart are with Bob Barr, then vote for Bob Barr. As long as the USA is stuck in this two party system where we all chose the lesser of two evils to run this country, we will continue to decline towards oblivion (after a brutal civil war). I am personally tired of voting for someone I wouldn't trust to take care of my dog, let alone run the most powerful nation on earth. That's why I've finally decided to vote the way I want to vote, regardless of my candidate's chances at winning.

The more people that do that, the sooner this nation will truly change for the better. Of course, to make it really work we need to complete revamp campaign finance laws so that it doesn't cost hundreds of millions to run a campaign for President and, most importantly, ABOLISH THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM!!

Of course one major difference between Imperial Spain and America today is that America is a democracy. Its citizens actually have the power to change the direction of the country. Unfortunately, complacency and the continuation of the two party system will continue to hinder us at every turn. I dream of the day when we actually elect presidents that are at least qualified to take care of my dog. Unfortunately, it is not this day.

@ClintJCL - Turns out you are very unlucky. Per the Wiki link in a comment below, the red should, in fact be on the left, which matches both the NASA images and the glasses I have. Obviously we can all sleep better tonight knowing the facts. ;-)

Not true. I know it still looks 3D then, but the red image is for the left eye and the blue the right. It is easy to check the images, especially the ones that include the lander. Just close one eye and compare the shift for anything close up and you'll see it matches. Of course that is assuming my 3D glasses are just like everyone's. As I said.. red lens on the left.

You have no idea what is going on in Iraq, do you? The US hasn't "raped the country" of so much as a single drop of oil. Instead, the entire goal has been to give control of that country's oil back to its people. Do you really think there'd be a single ally of the US left if we had seized the oil and then stolen it? I get so sick of people making ridiculous claims like your's - nothing could be further from the truth, but then, truth doesn't really matter do you, does it? Just hate I'm guessing.

Wait.. this is from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals??? LOL.. so everyone here who blames the Bush administration for this apparently doesn't realize there isn't a court in this country LESS connected to the Pres than that one. In fact, you couldn't find a court with less in common with the president. They LOVE to legislate from the bench and care very little about the rights of Americans or the constitution. And you are right.. it will get overturned.

As for the idea about God faking the age of the Earth, you're falling into the trap of thinking that because something is possible then it must be true.

The whole "appearance of age" crap is just another way of saying "God lied." Most Christians don't like hearing that, so it is pretty easy to shoot that one down anyway. After all, deliberately designing something to look one way and be something completely different is deception, pure and simple. I find that the concept of God's infallability is more important to them than a literal interpretation of the Genesis story.

So 6,000 or so years ago, not only did God create bones, he also must have created the entire universe and placed every photon of light in exactly the right place, AND given that photon the right speed, so that we see the sky as we do today.

And even that doesn't work, since you'd also have to assume that God included the appearance of events (supernova, etc) that never actually took place, which only works if you assume God is perfectly willing to lie out his ass just to fool us silly humans. When you give a creationist a choice between God being a deliberate liar and the universe being more than 6,000 years old, it pretty well shakes their entire foundation. Oddly enough, none of the creationist web sites EVER talk about the speed of light and the size of the universe. I wonder why? ;-) Now there is one site out there that claims the universe is really a very small bubble (slightly larger than the solar system), but it comes across as just rantings of a madman (which, of course, it is).
