If you want something that won't disappear 5 minutes after you pay for it, you need to take actual physical possession of it. Or at least get whomever you are purchasing from to say "We won't take this away from you for at least 10 minutes."

I dunno, I had 'physical possession' of a Motor City disc, but it is worth about as much as an AOL coaster now. Probably less so, since I believe I could still install and use an AOL disc Perhaps better to say, if you don't want it to disappear in 5 minutes, make sure it isn't online only before buying it.

Regarding bootup speed why dont you use windows 2000 then it boots even quicker on new hardware.

I do still use Windows 2000, you insensitive clot. You are right about it booting quicker too :p

  4. Like Cablevision's wifi ? on Verizon FiOS/DSL Customers Get Free Wi-Fi Across US · · Score: 1

How is this like Cablevision's wifi service? Is it just because wifi appears in the name of the package?

Cablevision only requires you to have Optimum Online service at your residence, the base package is fine no less, and an Optimum email address. You have to install no software.

If your wireless connection manager shows you are near a hotspot, i.e. you will see Optimum Wifi in the list (or you can check their handy mapping tool, located here: http://www.optimum.net/MyServices/WiFi/ ), you click on it and sign in on your ipod/laptop/doozeyhicksus from the future tech world.

Naturally the flashy headline and tantalizingly short description prompted me to action when I saw this at the bottom of the screen:

The American Dental Association announced today that most plaque tends to form on teeth around 4:00 PM in the afternoon. Film at 11:00.

Now that it is posted here in a reply, this shall forever be immutably preserved, as we all know the power of a slashdot post to remain un-corruptible...

...must really be low now. I remember the good old days when evil involved ( for companies ) crushing someone elses dreams, or secretly withholding patents so that some much needed improvement to the well being of all was held back. Now it just involves what amounts to a bs session that you volunteer to be part of, with all the 'gotchas' clearly listed UP FRONT. Amazing.

I dunno, but if my boss was willing to pop for something to secure my stuff and I was paranoid about it disappearing, I would opt for a soloution from an older, gentler period of time. Have him pop for a Roll top desk, for instance. Following the nature of your request, one with a lock (most had them). Then you would have everything you described with the added benefit of a classy looking piece of furniture.

Or, you could read the 'short' review . Although capitalization isn't his strong point in it , the 'short' review does actually cover points about the game and not about him ( more or less ) . :o)
