    if you are working full time and earning only $1000 a month in the USA then you want to look for a new job. This is less than minimum wage for a 35 hour week!

    I hire a contractor for $2000 to fix my roof. He takes the job and begins work. Halfway through he says that $2000 is not enough for his isolation and high altitude. He stops the work, goes on strike demanding more money and prevents me from hiring another contractor. Someone care to explain how that is legal and not a breach of contract?

    Things would be different if you agreed to pay him $2000 a month for general work, i.e. not a fixed price contract for a single job. In that case he could say that he will stop if you don't pay him more - and you could replace him with someone else or pay him more if you thought he was worth it.

    Of course not, but if I travelled in Ramadan with residues that detected as explosives on my clothes, had no landline contact for my employer, no proof of my current address, a driving licence showing my next to last address, and so on I would accept being held when they verified that I was OK. After all for all they would know I could be a Muzzie

    That's a shame then, a case of mistaken identity. Unfortunately this sort of thing happens occasionally, but it is the Muzzes to blame not the authorities defending against them.

    So we have a sob story from a Muzzie who is upset about being delayed. News for you - if you stopped trying to take bombs on planes, murdering people, flying planes into buildings then we wouldn't need to check you. I'm sure that the people who had to leap from the WTC would love to have only been delayed in travel. If it were up to me none of you would be allowed on a plane again.

    But the stated intent of the Muslims is to destroy our society. If unchecked they certainly will. Of course money should be spent on road safety too, but there is no campaign by drivers to destroy our civilisation.

  14. The US was founded on non-anonymity. Open voting in all elections (still open voting in Congress). If anonymity is so good, why doesn't Congress use secret ballots? Petitions require real names and verifiable information for the signature to be counted. John Hancock is famous for a reason, and it wasn't his anonymity.

    True - I can just imagine the non-effect of a declaration of independence as a rallying point if it was signed by 56 anonymous cowards.

    The side that's winning decides to piss off everyone by using poison gas on civilians/rebels. I guess now all the bleeding hearts will be chanting for Chairman Obama to "liberate" and "freedomize" the nation of Syria from their secular ruler so we can gain a level headed theocracy in it's place.

    That's exactly what the Muzzies are relying on. Its an obvious lie, but the PC crowd in the west will label pointing this out as "islamaphobic", so governments will act against the secularists

    Actually shutting down is fighting. It delivers a stronger message than just words.

    I don't doubt it, but weighing up one very strong message now against continued exposure of legal shenanigans by state and companies I am not sure it is the best thing.

    It was a myth, a good PR. The truth is probably the USA were never more, or less, democratic and free than most of western europe state. Just your run of the mill western democratic country. Not bad, but not the best either : just one among many good country to live in.

    At the time of the American revolution they really were among the best; only France could compare. Its a long time ago now though.

    Having come back from a holiday in Wales I think self-driving cars will take some time to cope with single-track roads, roads where cars have to reverse so two buses can pass, having to drive onto a grass verge on one side of the road so the other vehicle can keep clear of the sheer drop on the other, etc.

    Perhaps NSA is not kidding

    Perhaps they will just go ahead and lay off 90% of their admins, who are American citizens

    And then, they will hire admins from Bangladesh as replacement

    NSA doesn't need to be troubled by admins who are American citizens who understand the concept of Liberty, Human Rights, and Democracy - they can hire replacement admins from 4th world countries where nobody cares about any of those "Western Luxuries"

    Actually this is a good point. If the sysadmins are not American citizens and are not based in America then the NSA can legally spy on them with no problems.

    So yeah NSA outsourcing system administration to India might be a winner!

    Pakistan would be even better, then if any of them cause problems they can just send in a drone
