This is all wrong.
In Japan they have two distinct internets, which are not compatible with eachother: the regular internet, which we are used to, and the "keitai" (mobile) web.
It's my understanding that the Japanese public mostly cares about the Keitai web, which is packed full of proprietary technologies. The iPhone, following global standards is completely incompatible with the Keitai web, and thus is why people don't want it.
This might be a problem, as a Canadian Political Party already has a similar name, the Canadian Reform Alliance Party. Actually, thats not funny, thats just old. Oh well.

Windows Cannot read let alone write HFS+, the virus or whatever would have to ALSO be a program that can read AND write to HFS+. Seems unlikely.
How do you figure it 'requires' Dual-Link DVI?
My Dell 24" LCD at 1920x1200@60P only requires regular DVI. Thats more bandwidth than 1080P.
