  1. not in rural areas, I assume :( on Google to Offer Free Wi-Fi? · · Score: 0

If this did happen, it of course wouldn't reach the more rural areas. Stuff like this always has us missing out. :( Looks like I'll be moving into a city when I'm older if I don't want to miss out on nifty technology...

  2. Is that really so many? on Firefox Hits 80,000,000 Downloads · · Score: 0

80,000,000 most likely non-unique downloads doesn't seem like that big of a number to me. Oh well...Congratulations~ I hope they do take over the web since they're obviously better than MSIE6, but I doubt if they will ever successfully convert the masses of casual users.

  3. What's the use? on USB-Powered Linux Server Fits in Your Pocket · · Score: 0

Why would anyone really need a pocket-sized server in their pocket anyways? People are just throwing new, pointless, mini-sized devices out everyday these days....

  4. Re:I hope they do on Sony May Delay PS3 Until 2007 · · Score: 0

I agree with this. Consoles seem rushed out lately. Also, if this increases the number of launch titles available on the PS3, then I'm all for it. I never get consoles early due to lack of titles to choose from in their early days.

I'm hoping that all these problems with our current shuttles will convince NASA to work on something newer. Either way, hopefully they will perform whatever repairs are necessary to get the astronauts back down safely.

Yay! Now we're one step closer to AMD destroying Intel. I'm tired of seeing these Dell commercials advertising P4's like they're some Godly device brought to us for beastly processing.

  8. Re:Verizon FIOS // Re:Let's do a Slashdot ISP rati on PC World's ISP Service Rankings, as of June 2005 · · Score: 1

I got Verizon FIOS the week it debuted in Keller. The main problem I had was the technichians installing it wrong in my house and screwing quite a bit of stuff up, then having to come back later. Also, I've decided I hate the D-Link router they've supplied me with.

  9. Re:Let's do a Slashdot ISP rating. on PC World's ISP Service Rankings, as of June 2005 · · Score: 1

I have Verizon FIOS here. I'll have the give them a 7. Overall, I've had a good experience with them. However my internet has been randomly going out lately. Also, their techies seemed to be either untrained or just idiots.
