I hear you, man...I'm stuck on 56k. Broadband has only become available here recently... with Comcast:(
I'll be upgraded when I move out of this place.
" Google is charging them for all the fake clicks they got. That's why they're complaining."
No, I understand that... but how do they expect to win money over this? It isn't Google's fault.
Yes, but Verizon is making money on my text messages.
Also, Google does do thing to discourage this type of thing. I believe they do make each click that's from an IP that has clicked a link before cost less...it isn't like they are ENCOURAGING it or anything. Like you said, though, it's tough luck for the plantiff.
Why sue Google over this? I mean, they aren't doing anything that is against the law, are they? Go after the people that are spam-clicking your links! If you can't do that, there's still no reason to sue Google.
I think that's like trying to sue your cell phone company for spam txt messages that you recieve (that you have to pay for). Those cost me money...but having Verizon pay for those spam messages for a month is not going to get them to stop.
Sun will not go completely open-source. They already have JBoss, which is open-source... too bad that no one I know of uses it. Also, I doubt anyone would have used Platform Edition 9...unless they made it Open Source and promoted the hell out of it, which is why they are doing this. Everything will remain closed-source.
*shrugs* just my 2 cents, though.
Reading all this about Broadband makes me sad...I'm stuck on a dial-up connection w/ Bellsouth. on the bright side, it's about as fast as 56k can be, and it is only $10. Also, there is no icky software that you are required to install or anything, which makes me VERY happy...just click the start menu, go over to "connect to", and choose the bellsouth connection.
On the downside, it is 56k. Gotta love the country, right guys?...I don't, either.
But as far as 56k goes, I give them an 8 (very few problems, but you can't understand their customer support people because they seem to all have VERY heavy Indian accents).
As long as these keyboards continue to be $140+, we probably won't see them in retail outlets (at least, none of the big chains). These things just don't sell like a regular keyboard would (to your average consumer).

You guys just made some rich nerd very, very happy.
Programmers do meet one of the requirements that you have to meet to be considered an artist: They make no money.
Why dont we try to patent "Protecting Intellectual Property from Theft"... They'd probably let it go through, too...

That's what I meant...good for Wikipedia...not neccessarily for the users.
Nothing about it here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia/
I love Wikipedia...hate the big guys supporting (influencing) them... but in the end, it'll only be good for Wikipedia, I suppose.
we sure do pay a lot of attention to Microsoft... As a matter of fact, I'm pretty excited to see this.

This was exciting...3 years ago. I understand that this is on a "budget", but only 500 gb?
