I wouldn't be so quick at judging the Google guys. From their blog:
"We'll follow through on the other commitment - one percent of profit - by taking one percent of each year's profits and donating and investing that too. Our first step in meeting these commitments includes a $90 million cash donation to the Google Foundation and a commitment of up to $175 million over three years across our other Google.org efforts."

I use a Firefox extention that shows close buttons on each open tab. I find it immenselly usefull. Yes, sometimes I close a tab by mistake but the "Undo Close Tab" menu option allows me to reload the page to its original condition.
They are not loosing billions. They are investing in factory and expansion. Why parent post got 5 stars?
