I recently installed Unreal Tournament Demo and had to find out, that my good old Hercules Dynamite TNT is too slow for that game... same with Q3ATest, I have to use less detail and colors to actually be able to play the game...
I just hope that the support for 3d-cards will improve for linux...:-)
Well, the original title was: "AMD to build G4s? and I shortened it a little... I was not trying to say that Motorola will ditch the G4 or that AMD will start selling PPC...:-)
this would be a cool idea... I want both the PPC and AMD to succeed, so this is a great combination... also, this is good for the Dresden plant, which was just recently finished...
wow, this is really great news... now my LAMPP system (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl, PHP) is totally free! So now I can develop stuff for my non-profit sites and for commercial sites using the same software!:-)
I have a Hercules Dynamite TNT and I really like it... I was considering buying a Hercules Dynamite TNT2...and now I know why a friend of mine has been waiting for a couple of weeks to get his Dynamite TNT2... its sad to see a company that has been around for so long close its doors...
IMHO, the best WYSIWIG editor today is Dreamweaver. It comes bundled with an excellent text editor, which is either BBEdit (Mac) oder Homesite (Wintendo).
This is a great bundle, because it allows you to focus on your strength, If you need tables, do them in Dreamweaver, if you need to convert lots of text, do it in BBEdit.
If you also get Fireworks, you have a nicely integrated package for all your graphics and html needs.
Of course, it is more pc to use vi and GIMP, but in terms of productivity, it is sometimes useful to have a tool like BBEdit around, which has awesome support for HTMl stuff, plus GREP searches, etc.
It would be cool, if Macromedia could release Dreamweaver for Linux and if Barebones could release BBEdit for Linux, because then I would see no need to use my old shabby Mac anymore...;-)
but how much will it cost?
:-)
