Hehe, grammar_fascist, two postings down someone explains that we are all mis-parsing the sentence, and that ease of development is actually attributed to DC and 360. I guess it's true if not obvious.
You beat me to it. The cell sure is not simple to write for, and many developers are on the record saying so. According to some I've read (like here and here) it might be not as hard as expected, or not as hard as PS2, but this does not say much since PS2 was considered very hard by most.
Dvorak yet again has no idea what he's talking about. None at all. Thinks that by running an application on Linux (the kernel) you must GPL it. For some reasons thinks that "a false move" when creating an application for Linux might make your app public domain (wtf?). Also seems to think that MS must do anything special to make Windows and Linux interoperable (when in reality they just have to stop going out of their way to prevent interoperability). Geez.
They're looking at the 500 machine, 1000, 10000 machine enterprises.
The company I work for has 15,000 desktops (and due to the business it is in, it is probably more important than this size indicates) and I can tell you first-hand that they do not care at all when we inform them about a bug in their product that we really really need fixed. I dunno whom they care about - 150,000 machines installed?
I'm sorry, I am unable to find data online. I do know that I have seen data somewhere though. You might have a chance here. On this page there are no numbers on the influence of a woman's desire to be pregnant, but they do give numbers on how very common spontaneous abortions are:
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists(ACOG) (...) studies reveal that anywhere from 10-25% of all clinically recognized pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Estimations of chemical pregnancies or unrecognized pregnancies that are lost can be as high as 50-75%, but many of these are unknown since they often happen before a woman has missed a period or is aware she is pregnant.
Even though I cannot present hard data, from the sheer number of spontaneous abortions it seems pretty obvious to me that the willingness of the woman to become pregnant in the first place will have an effect, just as the state of mind of a sick person will have an effect on recovery, or the mind of an athlete will have an effect on physical performance. If you google for "spontaneous abortion" + mind and related terms, something might turn up. However most sites talk about how to prevent miscarriages. You might find more if you turn to women's studies.
you still have to answer why we have the right to end development before that point is passed.
Simple: women have this right because they already end development all the time using just the natural functions of their body and mind. You seem to be under the wrong assumption that every time a blastocyst is formed an implantation follows and consequently an embryo and then child develops. This however is wrong.
Women reject blastocysts all the time, and the chance that an implantation actually happens is lower the less the woman wants to be pregnant. Abortion early in pregnancy is just an extension of this perfectly natural event using technical means and is not fundamentally different as long as the embryo is still without the ability to experience pain or has other higher functions.
Holing up and demanding/collecting welfare is not the same as receiving and in turn giving solidarity. That solidarity has become a tainted notion is another thing that is wrong with the world. And that people don't see through the badmouthing of solidarity and who benefits of de-solidarization.
Important to whom? RMS? Or us? The reality is that...
Did you read what I wrote? Important because when clueless or malicious people like the author of the Forbes article talk about "Linux" it is totally unclear what they are talking about. Reread the post you replied to for clarification.
It does seem that Osama shows up on TV at just the right time to help the Republicans get elected. So, either he's totally clueless about how we react (admittedly, a possibility), or he *wants* Republicans in power (also a real possibility for the reasons just mentioned).
Poor guy. I would have very much approved that part of my unemployment and social security insurance payments are distributed to you, so that you can get back on your feet earlier without killing yourself. And in return I'd get help should need arise for me. Solidarity is a good thing. It's sad that large parts of the younger generations in the US (and in Europe too it seems) don't see that.
'Free World'? I don't care.
Stupidity in a Nutshell.
You should check your assumptions.
MS doesn't have a history of doing this
How do you define this? MS certainly does have a history of playing ugly with competitors (real, potential, perceived.)
You might want to try Audispray.
Yeah, what he said, greed and exploitation.
Seriously, this only attests to the limits of science.
Unfortunately, a whole lot of people have been writing code and assigning copyright over to Novell
Who, how much, for which projects? Not saying you are wrong, just curious.

PS3 has ease of development going for it?

should have read "no you can't"
The GPL v2 doesn't contain patent provisions. So you could GPL code that's protected by patents and release it still be able to sue users.
,but they are there in v2
Yes it does and now you can't. See the preamble as well as sections 7 and 8. GPLv3 strengthens and clarifies them
Agreed - we just have to be careful to not get out of the frying pan just to get into the fire ;)
latinized pleural version would be 'viri'
Nope, it would probably have been 'virus' or 'vira', see this

Al Qaeda another
Enough already! There is no Al Qaeda in the sense of it being a terrorist organization. No, I won't bother doing your research for you.

And thats right, I dismissed it by saying it wasn't probable enough to be worth discussing.
Ok got it, that wasn't clear to me.

Or he has no control over when he shows up on TV.

Page hits. But I agree, it sucks.
God forbid you read the license yourself!
