On a side note, is there really a lack of engineers? I went to a pretty good school, and surely did not notice fewer engineers. At the job fair, companies were not on their knees searching around for whatever engineer they could scrounge, there were so many that they could be highly selective. There does not seem to be a shortage of engineers to me, does anyone find basis in that comment?
Also, if there are fewer engineers (at least in the computer engineering world), i'd say its because the demand for engineers has leveled off. So many people rushed to become computer engineers because the pay was so high, that the field became saturated. Now salaries have leveled off, and mostly people who are genuinely interested in computer engineering apply.
Don't forget that this also sets PC gaming apart:
Friends cannot come over and play on the same screen.
You have to make sure you have all the correct hardware.
You can sit on your couch and play.
Battle field lacks a great deal of traits that make a good game.
1. You don't always want to play with a team, sometimes you want to fight on your own. You don't always want an objective, sometimes you want to have plain ole have fun. The variety of game types is lacking.
2. The server interface is terrible. Why should there be so much trouble to get on a server? If you have played halo II with xbox live, everything works seemlessly.
3. Since it is a computer game, some inherent disadvantages come with it. Your friends can't come over and play easily (there is no way i'm going to lug my computer to a friends place for BF2).
Overall, in all honesty, this game is subpar.
"Maybe if it didn't take FireFox 10 times as long as IE to start up it wouldn't suck so bad. Opera is pretty quick though."
Try Pre-linking it. You can use XP's built in prefetcher. Simply right-click on the Firefox icon you use to start the browser. Add the text/Prefetch:1 to the end of the line in the target field.
The real "big deal" here is for those who are not computer savy. Of course those of us who visit slashdot are relatively computer savy, and can make that simple decision and understand all we have to do is remove the Claria programs. However there are some who run antispyware and are expecting everything to be fixed magically when finished.
I have a Grandpa who would never change the program's default actions. Unfortunately for Grandpa, Claria will be on his computer and he may never understand why MS Antispyware does not remove the ads. It's these people that get hurt the most. Spyware should block all spam, and should force you to change defaults only if you want to allow spam, not the reverse.

Like automatic installs of the Claria ad programs?

Instead of polly want a cracker, maybe we will start saying polly want to do a math problem?

e.g.
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /Prefetch:1

You're overreacting.
With all the gunk stunk in my coworkers nails, he should easily be able to store a terabyte.
I wonder how much Padame's underwear will auction for
