Yes, but the apparent severity of your position would seem to paint you as a "scientific nut case," wouldn't it? I guess you have the "unsupportable" qualifier in there. Still, you seem to have created for yourself a worldview in which God could not exist. Isn't that a little closed-minded? My intent here is not to argue the existence of God, (complete waste of our time), but I want to understand what you think.
We may have gotten way off-topic. I will understand if you choose not to respond. This is probably not the place for this sort of discussion.
"You keep framing the issue in terms of faith. In doing that, you give away your true nature
as a religious nut case because those are the kind of people who are so wrapped in faith
that they can't conceive of any other way to view of the world."
Hmmm. You seem to be saying that religious people are closed-minded or something? Are you not also incapable of conceiving of any other way to view of the world?
I think that it is a mistake to label the Lord as either liberal or conservative. It seems to me that he was very apolitical. "My kingdom is not of this world." All that "turn the other cheek" and "go with him 2 miles" stuff seems to be instructions to NOT try to defy Roman authority, but to be extra-good citizens.
In my training as a reading teacher, I am constantly told that Meaning is created by the reader by reconciling the author's intent with the reader's existing knowledge. It is not difficult, in an engaging story, to figure out what the author's worldview is and to be influenced by it. In fact, in all of my literature classes, we were told to try to learn the author's worldview. When I played Knights of the Old Republic, I constantly told my friends that it was like "reading a good book." I actually became emotionally involved in the characters along the same lines of becoming involved with Sam and Frodo. This is not a mere simulation any more than a book is a mere simulation.
Is there any reason why this stuff can't go in something that doesn't make me look like some kind of wacko? If they could put this stuff in a normal-looking set of shades, I could watch Spongebob during my graduate classes!
But online sellers are not convenient. I know several people who have already reserved their copies of HP. They are so anxious, it is almost scary. These people are more than willing to spend the extra bucks to go to the store (they would probably wait in line if they had to) and get the book ASAP.

I heard that in the near future they were abandoning the 12V battery in favor of 24V. Would that make enough difference?
That's why I drive OLD CARS!!! THE A/C rocks. Vivan los viejos!
Sweet! That means I only have to wait 3 1/2 years for my wife to cave in and let me buy a new TV!!!!

How many of us actually read our privacy statements? I know I don't. Anyway, what would be the consequences of breach of contract?
So what about the Civil War? Congress didn't declare war against the South. The did, however, allow the President to wage war. Nothing new here.
