    Brilliant little idea, use the IP capability built into most telephone switches to take advantage of excess switching capacity.
    Most telephone switches (by which I mean the ones used by telcos) aren't IP-based -- they're not even packet switched. The capacity being used is that of Internet switching fabric, which is an entirely different network (altogether!).

    It's a basic right to get a tiny fraction of your salary for two weeks. A little over 100 pounds a week, IIRC. And that's if you've been with your employer for 26 weeks at 15 weeks before the baby's due date. If you're lucky, your employer might give you full pay during all or part of your paternity leave as a perk.

    No, downloading a picture does not cost more than talking on the phone for three seconds.
    Doesn't it? Ignoring framing and signalling, three seconds of speech on the air interface is around 5KB. That's smaller than most pictures, so I'm not sure your bandwidth argument holds.

    RISC is a type of instruction set, of which the ARM instruction set is one. ARM also refers to the company that created it, to several of the processors they themselves produced (e.g. ARM 2, ARM 3, ARM 600, StrongARM) and to the cores they sell to other people.
