Don't know what chantix is. I found another 'drug' after 28 years of heavy smoking... one night more than 2 years ago I had a discussion with a tie worn by some type of product manager for one of the bigger tobacco firms (the one with the cowboy..). Now this guy was 20 years younger than me and such an ass I told him I'll never give them a cent again... I'm still keeping that promise. I never smoked again, I do avoid smoking areas because of all that smell and every single time I wanted to smoke again I just had to think of this asshole. Can't remember the name, though...

Sorry AC
I've lived and worked all over this planet except the part of south of the panama channel. Re freedom of movement : In europe, you don't have to give your fingerprints at the immigration... And our governments prefer to keep their fingers where they belong and not in our business. No email sniffing (that's all done in the good old US of A, thanks anyway).
The worst data-collector in the country has been voted out of office by the parliament... you can not lie for 4 year to them (and the people they represent) and not face consequences.
BTW : Europe just grew bigger (last I heard). Now reaching from Portugal to Poland and Norway to Malta...
First beer on me if we ever meet... beer, not colored water.

No further comment needed. What do you expect from a region where europe has dumped her religious fanatics, mentally disordered, ill with STDs and otherwise not wanted and later on, the rest of this planet joined the game....
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAH !
But the cynical part of this is : I was trained (together with several others) in independent combat in unknown surroundings using improvised weapons and strange techniques...
So our government trained their own citizens to be terrorists ! I wonder if we are suddenly rounded up and disappear...
Yes - recovery partitions usually work this way.
One of my relatives bought a new PC, went home, skipped the recovery CD creation (He was a bit in a hurry...) and then happily loaded megatons of gameware & associated trouble on it. Two weeks later the bloody thing would not boot anymore...
This genius actually deleted all partitions with some utility he found on the net. Formatted the remains as well...
I had a funny time with HP support personnel in germany... after 5 days they sent me a set of their install CDs and I was able to fix the box. Afterwards, back to the joe user but without admin privileges... and a working antivirus setup.
Never had any problems since. Occasionally I have to install something but that is usually compensated with some beer so it's not a problem.
But the folks at HP really amazed me. 2 questions (when bought, what serial) and 5 days later they sent the discs ! I'm impressed.
Did exactly that. Was shopping around for a console and while reading tech articles about my prospective gaming gear decided to not support this bs. Opted instead for a big LCD screen, decent graphics card and wired the old stereo to the soundcard... Now still playing classics like freeciv or flightgear. Don't settle for less. If I buy a product I treat it like it were bought. If I can only get the right to use - forget it. No deal ! Just say no to corporate stuff !
I disagree. There are still people around that do NOT want bits and pieces opf their personal data spread all over the place/net even while (unbelieveably...) NOT performing any illegal actions.
Besides that the so called 'targeted advertising' can be a major hassle - Searched once (in a popular place) for something fairly exotic and I'm still greeted with related stuff whenever I visit there.
Just being careful with any information that *might* allow conclusions as to who and what I'm in real life is not the same as the average tinfoil-hat-wearing-conspiracy-nut.
Don't trust anybody unless proven to be harmless.
Cheers

It's always the fanatics which are dangerous.
