  1. celebrating mediocrity on Students Are Always Half Right In Pittsburgh · · Score: 1

Thankfully none of my children will ever set foot in an American school. The NEA should be abolished. It's nothing but a bunch of 1960's, burn-your-bra types, that are trying to socially engineer our children into accepting mediocrity. It's okay if you're a loser...the government will bail you out if you can't find a job, afford your home loan or just want to sue someone for something asinine. We spend far more on "education" than any other country and yet we have the dumbest kids in the world. (well soon to be...we're what number 19 in the world now academically?) We used to be number 1!! We used to be the model of which other countries chose to emulate. Now they are using our previous standards for teaching to educate their children while we dumb down the materials so "Mommy's Little Monster" can play "catch up". Get rid of the social engineers and stop pandering to under achievers....till then I will continue to home school my children.

  3. Korea already did this in 2000...doi on The Air Car Nears Completion · · Score: 1

The P.H.E.V. car was already completed by Korea in 2000 but the U.S. didn't report on it until 2005. Gee thanks CNN for that "timely" report. http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/03/30/spark.air.car/i ndex.html Personally, I think that there is no way that any auto maker or oil company in the world will let these cars take over the roadways. Not when there is still 2 trillion gallons of oil still in the earth's crust. 2 trillion times 3 or 4 dollars a gallon equals a bunch of greedy bastards who don't care about the world they are leaving the children. All they care about is "getting mine and getting it now".

  4. New AC on Utah Teens Invent Better Air Conditioner · · Score: 1, Informative

What's funny is that people actually believe that the auto industry in the United States will allow such a deep cut in the amount that Americans pay for gas. They want us to be as dependent on "gas" as is humanly possible. They went so far as to ignore the PHEV,(http://www.energine.com/eng/engine/engine2.h tm), developed by a South Korean company because it would have eliminated the need for gas.(They,U.S. automakers, asked if it could be modified to be a "dual" system using both air and petrolium) It just goes to show that when it comes to saving the environment, the automakers are not interested if it affects the amount of revenue they get from selling gas. Anyone who believes that the automakers will allow the use of anything in a vehicle that lowers our consumption of gas, (in this lifetime), is delusional, at best.
