funny thing is, if talking about "advanced" civilizations "discovering" america...you will find with a little research that that trophy should go to the Celts or the Vikings.

How long will americans continue to sit idly by...as see folks in here commenting on how tired they are of being mad and ranting about the wrongs of the US government...how long before we decide we (as a nation) just wont take it anymore...I watched "gods & generals" the other night, and it reminded me in how short a time our country could turn to civil war. cause thats where we are headed folks. think about it. truthfully its probably well overdue. most military personel dont know what they are fighting for and civilians have forgoten how to fight for thier rights all together.

You could'nt have said it much better than that. we need to continue to question the decision making of those who we let make our rules. Anyone claiming "why are you running from me if you have nothing to hide?" or "If the're not guilty, why are they running?" should be scrutinized about how they determine what is right and wrong. who's to say...

Im generally an optimist, but if you all cant see the state of the world today and realize that within our lifetimes (im 28 BTW) we will see another civil war or some type of large scale battle take place on american soil, then you are sadly misguided. When whatever fate that is going to befall this nation happens (and it will) i and all of you will be looking to the people who know how to survive, rebuild, and genarly carry on because they just know how to do "stuff". A few people out of the population who know Morse in a time of crisis will be invaluable. Everytime we loosen testing, remove protocols, and drop required knowledge from our standards, we are just proving how ignorant we are as a society. At some point everything we take for granted will be taken away or just wont work, and will be forced to fall back to older practices....which no one will remember. I was reminded of this in the simplist way, a week ago while watching the craptastic summer blockbuster "War of the Worlds" when the car mechanic is the only one who can get a functioning vehicle to leave town.
