    Other way around, NdK. Diesels have a wide, flat power curve over their RPM range, while gasolines have a narrow, peaky power curve. Diesels can be tuned to be extremely efficient at nearly any particular point along their curve, whereas the same can be said of gasoline engines only in their power peak.

    So instead name it by the cold and impersonal name and CNAME it to something else in DNS. That way, you can use something like "NYCEXCH05" and yet still log into it as "TRIXIE", and thus the following can be overheard: "Yeah, Trixie's not talking to me anymore..."

    Networking equipment is not necessarily quiet. If you think those fans are "low volume", you've never sat next to a Cisco 2900 series switch for any length of time. That tone eats right into your skull in about five minutes flat and feasts on your hippocampus like a hot fudge sundae.

    True, Dell tends to meander along behind whatever the crowd has already done, but IBM and HP both have vested interests in Linux. Somehow, I can't see them allowing MS bully-rights on this one.
