The review concludes by saying the book is "a fun read for the Perl fanatic." So post that review on Perl.com and tell us here on Slashdot why any non-fanatical programmer would want to use a half-baked imitation of an unwritten language.
I love and use Perl. But the grammar is already rich and varied. Throwing incorrect Perl6 code into the mix is going to make Perl5 code even harder to read. I sure hope not too much of this stuff makes it onto CPAN (although I know some of it already has).
This was "quoted" from a phone interview where I could hear the journalist typing in the background, so it's hardly a direct quote
He was typing your quotes, Croc Genius. That's how we take notes when on the phone.

How about learning to stand behind your actions, instead of trying to hide them? Public comments are just that -- public. Campaign contributions must be disclosed -- to the public. If you don't want your public actions to be public, DON'T FUCKING TAKE THOSE ACTIONS. There are plenty of people who continue to express their beliefs. They just don't WHINE about the consequences.
Agreed. Agreed. Mod parent up.
I only read opinions from historic notables, myself. Ben Franklin, Linus T, Larry Wall. Anything else is a waste of time.
Except when I'm on Slashdot, where I read comments from a guy whose chief claim to fame is writing a weblog by or for "icy blue chipmunks." daniel_mcl, I salute you.
Jokes about the shuttle fleet being grounded while one is on orbit aside
But I... was just about to.. then you... and I...
You preempted my clever +5 Funny -- which I was all about to post with a high degree of self satisfaction -- in the first CLAUSE of your comment, DAMN YOU DAVE SCHROEDER, DAMN YOUUU!
Give the rest of us a chance at some karma, wouldja?... I told them not to touch the red stapler... then on Slashdot... said to put the joke aside... aside, I tell you... going to burn down the server...
