However, it's better for a child, if you mean him to go for exacts area, to have a video-game console or, at least, allowing him to play it once in a while. So, he may learn new types of control systems, wich are more convenient for some things than others...
(If only for this, you may have those joystics for computer, like the steering wheel and pedals for car games).
